K-OCHANA – A HEALING PLACE
K-ochana is situated by the end of the village, by the beautiful forest that is visited a lot by dog walkers, joggers, mushroom pickers (a very popular autumn past time activity) and passers by (the main road is a shortcut to the nearby village). Unfortunately some of the forest goers do not respect the sanctity of this natural place. Rubbish that people leave in the forest, such as bottles, not only spoils the landscape, but can also be a death trap for small animals. We have a practice of taking rubbish bags for each walk to collect the rubbish left by careless visitors. We take them then to our forester.
In the future, we want to invest in renewable energy resources like solar panels- to make sure we do our part in reducing our carbon footprint. We’d love to insulate our old house so not to loose so much heat.
We dream of making our home more energy-efficient. We already have LED bulbs installed (they consume less electricity than traditional ones) and they often are set on timers. We are gathering funds to insulate adequately our old wooden house- so that no heat escapes and makes us use our heating system more than we need to.
